Summer fair.

Today was my schools summer fair. It was raining non stop so loads of things were cancelled and it looked a bit bare outside. But there was lots inside and it was still fun!

Todays book is fantastic Mr fox, by Risks Dahl.

I really like this book because of boggis and bunce and bean. They are funny, mean characters with different personalities. I think Risks Dahl thought carefully about these characters because they are very well described. In the story there is a very clever fox who steals meat from boggis and bunce and beans farms. The 3 horrible men plot to kill Mr fox and his family. What crazy ideas can they come up with and can humans dig faster than foxes?

oh common!

I’m sorry I havent posted in a while. This is because I’ve been really busy practising for my dance exam and rehersing for our end of year. I know you probably think this is an ixecuse, but I can’t tell you how busy I’ve been.

Oh common! 4 days without a single hit! Looks like all hopes have gone for my goal of 150. It would be an achievement if I even got to 90 (im on 84). Oh well…..

I recently got back from viewing Wes Anderson's latest film Moonrise Kingdom, which will have a review later tonight or tomorrow, and decided to pick a particularly whimsical Anderson film for today's post.  Now I could have gone with something obvious like The Royal Tenenbaums or Rushmore, maybe even picking his first film Bottle Rocket, but I wanted something out of the box and unique to the Anderson profile.

another week gone… not 100 hits

I am a little sad today because I didn’t get to 100 hits by the end of the week. I have 75 right now so only 25 hits and I would of got to 100. So close!

my goal for the next week is 125. Come on people!

Today’s book is the longest whale song. This is the one I’m reading right now so I will only tell you a little bit. I’m not going to do a full review.. yet!

The Longest Whale Song by Jacqueline Wilson

I really like Jacqueline Wilson books because they are sooo griping. This one especially. The book is about a girl called Ella who has a pregnant Mum. When her Mum has the baby she falls into a deep deep coma and wont wake up. How will Ellla cope with just Jack, her horrid stepdad?

But when some army soldiers come to practise in the area that they live in, they have to move out and live somewhere else. Soon boundry wires are put up everywhere and all the villagers are not aloud to go in there. Suddenly, Lillys cat goes missing and bombs are beeing dropped in the boundry area. What will happen?

Anyway, today at school was my residential assembly. 2 weeks ago I was on a residential with my class. We went to this place called Plas Pencelli in Wales. In welsh ‘plas’ means big house/ mansion and ‘Pencelli’ was the name of the village. We had the best time ever! And we had nice weather except for the last day. We did loads of activitys including… Adventure walk, Climbing, Caving, Canoeing and the Dingle Descent (or Dingle Dangle of Doom as one of our instructors called it)

Boy by Roald Dahl was a great illustrated look at Dahl’s own childhood. From tales from school to his getaways to Norwegian islands, giving an old lady a heart attack to goat poop in smoking pipes, it is one hilarious, poignant account of Dahl’s past, things that influenced his creative stories. I hope to read the rest of his history. One cute read!
